At times, life’s lessons seem to be too numerous and so overwhelming we throw our arms in the air convinced that we are powerless, unable to manage our lives, unable to control our destiny. These feelings are most prevalent during the red sea experiences of our journey. At this point, we are extremely vulnerable to the negative forces that continuously strive to trap us in a chain of events certain to cinch our destruction if we lose sight of the truth about ourselves. The voices of any weaknesses that are a natural part of our human fiber become amplified and we are often blinded, causing us to focus only on the negative.

When we allow ourselves to become shortsighted, we are sometimes drawn to explore negative activities, i.e., abuse of mind altering substances and other thrill seeking actions. We then risk the danger of becoming trapped in this netting and the belief of any overcoming dwindles with each passing day. We tend to repeat this cycle, only to find ourselves in the middle of the wilderness with no clear path of return to our rightful place.

The only way to stop this chain of events is to realize who we really are. The highs of thrill seeking activities are only short-lived antidotes. They tend to temporarily anesthetize our pain. But this wears off. We then find ourselves deeper in the depth of despair. Now is the time to remember—all things come to pass—and the universe cannot fail us or forsake us. Its sole purpose is to support us.

If you will, recall an event from your past you thought you would never survive, then bask in the realization that you did survive and, in fact, you possess all the qualities, ideas and strengths to overcome again.

During this life-cycle, we will have many rebirths and numerous over-comings. By looking back on the growth areas of our lives, we are reminded that the intent of the Divine is to give us our heart's desires. We then become reacquainted with our inner self and discover the voice of eternal guidance has never deserted us.  Allow yourself to marvel at how creative you have become. Discover with a little faith, creativity and meditation, you will again overcome, rise to the top and return to your rightful place. Because we do not always follow the divine plan for our lives, coming face to face with seeming failure is imminent. But when we are patient and refuse to label our adventures as good or bad, we are able to experience a resurrection and all unpleasant situations will simply fade away, leaving only its bittersweet nectar of success. Our testament to the magnificence of the universe is the lesson we teach.  Everyone we come in contact with will learn by how we live our life. The love we possess and the glimpses of God's goodness that are apparent in our life is what we ultimately teach others.
